1993,94,95,96,97 Nissan Altima stereo removal instructions to help you remove your radio fast!

Radio Removal:
1)Using a panel removal tool, carefully pry up on the shifter trim bezel to release and remove.
2)Extract (2) screws from the panel below the steering column.  Gently pull the panel down to release the clips along the top edge of it and remove the panel.
3)Extract (2) screws from just above the radio.
4)Extract (4) screws in the shifter area holding the lower rear portion of the radio trim bezel.
5)Extract (1) screw at lower left between radio and steering wheel.
6)Carefully pull bezel away from console / dash to remove and use caution above radio where this bezel interlocks with the vent trim.
7)Extract (4) screws securing the radio in the dash, unplug and remove.


The 2 main things you will need when installing your new stereo is a wiring adapter and a dash kit.

Wiring Adapter



The wiring adapter is a piece which has a plug on one end and wiring sticking out of the other end. The plug connects to the factory wiring, and the wires are connected to the matching color wiring on the new stereo. This allows for connecting a new stereo without having to cut the factory wires.

Stock stereos have varying sizes, and if you just place an aftermarket stereo in the hole left by a stock stereo then there will be gaps around the stereo. The dash kit is a plastic piece which fits into the hole left by the stock stereo and fills in the gaps between the aftermarket stereo and the dash.
