1992,93,94,95 Pontiac Grand Am stereo removal instructions to help you remove your radio fast!

Radio Removal:
1)Extract the screw from the underside of the radio trim bezel.
2)Extract the (5) screws from the upper glove box securing the glove box assembly and remove the glove box.
3)Open up the lower glove box and extract the (3) screws securing the radio trim bezel near the pin switch.
4)Extract the (3) screws from below the steering column that secure the top of the driver's side lower dash.
5)Extract the (5) screws securing the lower section of the driver's side lower dash panel and remove the panel.
6)Extract the screw securing the radio trim bezel behind the driver's side lower dash panel.
7)Using a panel remove tool / screwdriver, carefully pry the radio trim bezel outward to release and remove it.
8)Remove the (2) nuts from below the radio cavity securing the radio to the dash, pull the radio from the cavity, unplug the leads and remove the radio.

The 2 main things you will need when installing your new stereo is a wiring adapter and a dash kit.

Wiring Adapter

The wiring adapter is a piece which has a plug on one end and wiring sticking out of the other end. The plug connects to the factory wiring, and the wires are connected to the matching color wiring on the new stereo. This allows for connecting a new stereo without having to cut the factory wires.

Dash Kit

Stock stereos have varying sizes, and if you just place an aftermarket stereo in the hole left by a stock stereo then there will be gaps around the stereo. The dash kit is a plastic piece which fits into the hole left by the stock stereo and fills in the gaps between the aftermarket stereo and the dash.
