1988,89,90,91,92,93,94,95 Chevrolet Van stereo removal instructions to help you remove your radio fast!

Radio Removal:
1)Remove the (2) screws from the top inside of the ashtray area.
2)Remove the (2) screws from the bottom front of the engine hump cover, pull the cover off and remove the electrical harnesses.  Then remove the engine hump cover / shell.
3)Remove the single screw from the right side of the chassis securing the rear support bracket to the firewall (a 10mm socket wrench will be needed).
4)Carefully snap off the radio trim piece.
5)Remove the (2) screws (10mm) securing the radio to the dash, one at each side of the chassis.
6)Pull the radio out of the cavity, remove the antenna lead, disconnect the wire harnesses and remove the radio.

The 2 main things you will need when installing your new stereo is a wiring adapter and a dash kit.

Wiring Adapter



The wiring adapter is a piece which has a plug on one end and wiring sticking out of the other end. The plug connects to the factory wiring, and the wires are connected to the matching color wiring on the new stereo. This allows for connecting a new stereo without having to cut the factory wires.

Stock stereos have varying sizes, and if you just place an aftermarket stereo in the hole left by a stock stereo then there will be gaps around the stereo. The dash kit is a plastic piece which fits into the hole left by the stock stereo and fills in the gaps between the aftermarket stereo and the dash.
